Revelations by Vesta
It’s such a good feeling when I discover yet another enjoyable Pros writer whose work I haven’t come across before.

Maybe it’s the Celt in me, but I love the reined-in violence, the way Doyle says it like *it is* - no room for confusion, no room for compromise or sharing: war is declared and it’s every man for himself:

And no slimy little public school nancy boy is ever going to get anywhere near him."

[Get my drift?]

......and you just can’t beat an angry, jealous Doyle when it comes to sheer entertainment:

If I ever again see you with any part of your body within a foot of him, I'll break your bloody neck. Understood?"

And the sexual chemistry....... and those hips........

"I can do that," he said softly. "Go put some clothes on, I'll meet you in the foyer."

"Don't be long." As he moved past, their hips brushed together, and it took everything Ray had not to turn into the contact and press closer

And more chemistry between them - it's almost tangible:

I didn't imagine it, he told himself firmly as he took the stairs three at a time. I know him. I know what I saw. I know he wants it too...

He reached the top of the final flight, looking down into the foyer to see Bodie standing by the main desk, chatting to Freddie the doorman; suddenly his partner turned as if summoned, dark eyes glittering as he raked Ray from head to foot with a searing glance that set every nerve in his body screaming. Time without number, he'd seen him look at women exactly like that; now, finally, he understood why they all fell at his feet.

He descended the final few steps slowly, sauntering over to join them, his eyes never leaving Bodie's; as he stopped beside him, it was all he could do not to put out a hand to touch. They had to be alone, and quickly, and words needed to be said before anything else happened...

"You took your time," Bodie chided lightly, but his eyes were flame.

"Sorry - I made a bit of a mess in the gym. Had to clean it up."

The flames leapt higher, and Bodie smiled slowly.

That's my Bodie!

It’s very short but the good news is that there are two sequels: Morning and Bodie's Morning and all three can be found at the usual places:

It's a very tightly written, very hot little story - I love it. I wish she'd write more Pros *sigh*.

That's it - something I love when a writer can bring it out - the toughness, the predator in both of them - without over-writing.

Love the last line too:

"Whatever you want," was the whispered reply. "Just do it soon... "

Oh, that *is* a good, last line! Thanks. And yes, it is tightly written, very neat and condensing a lot into a small space.

Glad you enjoyed it!

These parts you've quoted are just gorgeous, I love them, and I absolutely adore this angry, possesive Doyle. It's something we don't see often enough (well, I don't!) and given that fanon Doyle is reputed to have such a temper, jealousy makes a great outlet for it! *g*
Thanks for this.

Wow that's good. Such a sharp, sexy pulse to it. And I love Doyle here:

"If I ever again see you with any part of your body within a foot of him, I'll break your bloody neck. Understood?"

He waited until the tear-filled eyes closed in assent, then released him and stood up, retrieving his shoes and jacket.

"Remember to turn the lights out when you leave," he said casually as he walked to the door, "we're on an economy drive at the moment."

Makes you shiver doesn't it? The way he turns it on and off? And yes, as angelci5 said, his temper lends himself to explosive jealousy perfectly.

Thank you for this rec, I haven't read this, and I'm so glad I did now. I'll go read the others too.

It sure does. I watched Spy Probe again last night and it reminded me slightly of Doyle in this story where's he at his glittery-eyed, furious best, both with the 2 assassins and with Bodie (in Spy Probe, not the story).

"we're on an economy drive at the moment."

And it's got humour.

I've got to confess that I haven't read the other 2 stories, yet, so I will.

Thanks for this. And I can't remember if I've wished you a Happy New Year? But I do now, anyway!

I hadn't read these three little gems until today. I thank you for the rec. Hot stories and very much what I love in Pros. I like that she didn't overdo Doyle's jealousy. It's there, but he's not someone I'd dislike who is nasty in his behavior.

Oh, you're welcome and I hope you enjoy them.

I think you're right about that. And I don't think his temper/anger really holds the same degree of menace which is present in Bodie, though it's a menace I find really attractive in him.....not sure if Doyle would be able to carry that off as he's more volatile and open about it: what you see is what you get, type of thing.

Thanks so much for commenting and I hope you enjoy the fics.
